Portraits of my family - a personal project
Last Christmas I was inspired to do a little personal project where I made clean, simple portraits of each person in my immediate family. Grandparents, parents, in-laws, siblings, nephews, nieces, etc. The most common reaction was "huh?!". Thankfully most everyone agreed to participate. My brother, David, and his girlfriend, Emily, were not included in the project because they live in Seattle and weren't in town at the time.
The Setup: I used an Einstein 640 light in a Paul C. Buff beauty dish directly above each person with a reflector under the chin in some cases - others I used only the beauty dish. The background was a large, circular reflector. All the portraits were shot with my Nikon D810 and either the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S or Nikon 50mm f/1.8D.
